2007 X'mas @ Centrepoint

Robinsons post x’mas sales!

We were at Robinsons, Centrepoint Orchard outlet for its post x’mas sales. Lots of bargain and naturally the damage were huge too… within hours, about $440 was gone.

James almost died at the cashier.

James bought 3 biz shirts and 2 Ashworth polo t-shirts (refunded 1 later cos of its size).

I got 1 black top, 1 Ashworth polo t-shirt and some inner beauty pieces.

Rich & Good Cake Shop

Not very rich & good as what the shop name claims to be.

Some die-hard fans would tell you that the best swiss roll in Singapore is from this little shop along Kandahar Street.

To find out exactly how good it is, we drop by and bought kaya ($6), chocolate ($5) and durian ($6) roll.

The sponge cake was moist and fluffy. The spread of rich kaya, chocolate and durian in the roll was not too sweet. In fact, the sweetness was just nice.

It was almost perfect except that the taste was not strong enough. They are a bit too blend. Not enough kaya, chocolate and durian.

It was good but not worth the money.

Mos Burger

I love the fish burger at Mos Burger.

It is really what you see is what you get. The corners of the thick cheese can be seen hanging out of the burger, generous spread of cream/mayo that you get to squash them with the bun cos they have brilliantly created a gap between them while wrapping and the fillet is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

It’s the best fish burger that I’ve tasted in years and a far cry from MacDonald’s ever shrinking fish fillet.

Mos Burger fries are also the best…thick but not oily or soggy. They remind of the fries in UK.

Teo Seng Teochew Porridge

Wide spread of variety at this teochew porridge stall at Simon road, next to Midnight curry.

We were there around 10pm and there are still plenty of seats.

Reasonable price and food tasted good.

This Used To Be My Playground

Like many kids, I spend quite a far bit of my childhood at the playground.

A simple rubber or tyre swing seat with steel chains over a sand puddle was more than enough for any kid in the 70s.

We would spend hours competing to swing the highest, build sand castles or play tic-tac-toe on the sand.

Over the years, playground has become more sophisticated and safe but this is no longer my playground.

I'm A Bad Horse

好马不吃回头草... I'm not.

I’m back; back to the place that used to be so desirable, the place that I’ve wanted to leave so desperately, the place that I’m so familiar with, the place that I’ve been for 7 years, the place that I’ll be working at for the next 6 months.Exactly a year later, I’m back to my ex company as a permanent contract staff for 6 months. Nothing much has changed. In fact, I’m back cos the data are still messy and process still unclear.

I had wanted to keep it a secret and surprise my friends/ex colleagues but a busy little bird got wind and started to spread the news even before I officially report at work.

I’m delighted and touched that many colleagues still remembers me.

So far I’ve not been asked or hear comments like: why did you come back, you shouldn’t have left in the first place, you came back after all… but I’m sure they are coming soon… some people just like to spoil your day and put you down.

As far as I’m concern, I’m happy with the offer; something that I would never have achieved if I had not leave, and being a contract staff I dun feel pressured or have any sense of belonging.

Will this be the place that I’ll retire? Or my job hunt continues after 6 months?

What the heck, I dun even know if I’ll still be alive to update my blog the next minute?
