The Grand Old Dame

21 July 1973, the day The National Stadium was officially opened.

After 34 years, she retired on 30th June 2007.

I had the privilege to be among the thousands of Singaporeans who celebrated the nation’s birthday in the stadium for a couple of years and this is the first time that I’m spending quiet quality time with her alone… well, almost alone.
