We saw a guy carrying a box of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts in the MRT and kept us wondering where the hell he got them.
He doesn't have any luggage with him which means he didn't just came back from some country that sells them... hmm... Someone should bring them in while the donut craze is still hot!
SGN... can you bring some back from Hong Kong/Macau in Nov... Please...

Having nothing better to do while waiting for James to finish his work in the office, I took some pictures.

Lunch @ Alexandra Village
We were attracted by the kuehs or rather this 70s confectionary shop at AV. We bought some kuehs before heading to queue for the famous Depot Road Zhen Xhan Mei Claypot Laksa despite the hot weather.
The laksa was marvelicious! The gravy was thick with plenty of ingredients.
The onde-onde was good… you know it’s good when the onde-onde burst and the gula Melaka oozed out in your mouth. The Bingka Ubi (tapioca cake) was as good, smooth on the inside and crispy on the outside. We didn’t get to try the Lempar Ayam (glutinous rice with chicken) cos we left it for my mum.
Overall, I still find the kuehs at Maxwell market the best.

Interviews
I went for 2 interviews yesterday; both at Shenton Way. The first one seems promising; it was more like a chit-chatting session with the interviewer. We talked for 1½ hrs which left me with ½ hr to grab a quick bite at Starbucks before rushing for the second interview which lasted for about ½ hr.
I met up with Pig to have dinner at Beppu Menkan Japanese Noodle Restaurant (别府) at Tiong Bahru Plaza. We had a good time catching up… most of the time; it’s me who’s talking.
I’ve a $5 Beppu voucher for use in China Sq Central (Dinner Only), along with a list of terms & conditions. Anyone interested?
Later, we went to Redhill market where I meet James who was having dinner alone. We took a cab home. The rather elderly cab driver has a problem keeping his vehicle within his lane. He tend to gear towards his left… his entire body was tilted toward the passenger seat and he keeps cutting into the left lane but he honks at other vehicles that signals to cut into his lane.
Luckily we reached home in one piece.
Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell) @ $10.
- Age Dashi Tofu @ $3
- Hot Green Tea @ $1.50
- Complimentary Edamame (green soybeans)

Lunch @ Serangoon Gardens
Lunch with sgn at serangoon gardens hawker centre. We had bak chor mee which seems popular. Not bad but the soup is too sweet meaning lots of MSG inside. Not worth my $4.
We shared a slide of Chocolate delight from PK Express stall. It’s not delightful at all. The cake is not fluffy and the chocolate coating is normal.
Moved to the other side of the hawker centre for $0.50 bean curd but it has sold out. Had grass jelly instead.
Saw this famous char kwey teow and confectionary stall. Both have long queue but the queue at the char kwey teow stall somehow got stuck at this two ladies tapao’ing.
I bought some buns from the confectionary. I must say the uncle is really good at doing biz… I had in mind wat to buy but when I approached the uncle… he made me buy more than I need. He keeps repeating: “再来...” after picking each bun, I was like been hypnotized and just keep on ordering. End up buying $3.40 worth of buns… but still better than breadtalk.
